Privacy Policy

At Lomma we respect your privacy, and the app is designed to collect as little data as possible. This policy explains what we store and how we use it.

1. Data kept only on your device

The following is stored locally on your device and is never sent to our servers:

• Your dietary preferences (such as restrictions and allergies) and your chosen form of address, to personalize the experience.
• A local copy of your free-trial balance (the authoritative record is kept on our server — see section 3).
• Your favorite recipes and your recent-recipe history.
• Your recipe ratings (a local copy).

You can delete this data by removing the app from your device.

2. Data sent to generate recipes

When you request a recipe, the ingredients you type (or dictate by voice) and your recipe-related preferences (such as number of people and meal type) are sent to our secure server, which uses an AI service to generate the recipe suggestion. We do not send any personally identifying information with this request.

2a. Voice input (microphone)

You can optionally dictate your ingredients instead of typing. When you use this feature, your speech is converted to text by your device's built-in speech-recognition service (such as Google's or Samsung's; some devices may process audio in the cloud according to your device settings). We do not record or store your voice, and no audio ever reaches our servers — we receive only the resulting text, which is treated exactly like typed ingredients. Microphone use is entirely optional, requires your permission, and can be revoked in your device settings at any time.

2b. Reports & app quality

If you use the "report a problem" button on a recipe, your report text along with the recipe title and your rating is sent to our server, linked to your account identifier, so we can review it and improve safety and quality. The app also automatically sends brief technical crash reports (the technical error text, with no personal content) to help us fix problems. These records are deleted or de-identified when you delete your account.

2c. Photo scan & link import

When you use the photo-scan or link-import feature (for example a recipe link from a website or social app), the image you capture or pick, or the link you paste, is sent to our secure server and the AI service to extract the ingredients or recipe. The image or link is processed only for this purpose, and we do not retain the image on our servers. These features are optional and run only when you use them.

3. Anonymous account, sign-in and purchases

When you first open the app, an anonymous account identifier is created automatically (via an anonymous sign-in in our database), with no personal data, to anchor your free trial. We store your free-trial ledger (the number of free consultations remaining and your install date) on our server, linked to this anonymous identifier, so the trial cannot simply be reset by reinstalling the app. We also store a hashed (not raw) version of your IP address, used only for rate-limiting and abuse prevention. We also read your device identifier (such as ANDROID_ID on Android or identifierForVendor on Apple) and store only a hashed version of it, to anchor your free trial to the device, prevent reinstall abuse, and validate promo codes — we do not store the raw identifier.

The app is free to try with no account. If you choose to buy additional units (unit packs), you are asked to sign in with your Google or Apple account (via our secure service) solely to protect your purchases and keep them linked to you even if you change devices. We store your paid balance (and, if you have a prior unlimited pass, its expiry date) on our server, linked to your account. Payments themselves are processed entirely by the app store (Google Play or the App Store); we never see or store your card details.

3a. Notifications & in-app messages

If you allow notifications, we register a device push token via a push-notification service so we can send you service messages, support replies, or announcements. Notifications are optional and can be turned off in your device settings at any time, after which the token is unregistered. We may also show you one-way messages in an in-app inbox (support replies and announcements) — you cannot reply to them inside the app.

3b. Basic info for support & personalization

We store limited information linked to your identifier to improve support and personalization: your chosen form of address, your app language, your country at the country level only (inferred from your IP via our network provider, not a precise location), and your last-active date. This information is used to support you and send relevant announcements, and is deleted when you delete your account.

4. What we do not collect

We do not collect your precise (GPS) location, your contacts, your voice recordings, or any sensitive data; we do not sell your data to anyone; and we do not show ads. We do not access your photo gallery; the only images processed are those you capture or pick yourself for the scan/import feature (see section 2c), processed transiently to extract ingredients and not retained. We infer only your country-level location from your IP address (never a precise location) — see section 3b.

5. Third-party services

The app relies on trusted services to operate: Google Play and the App Store (store & payments), a secure hosting & database service (server & sign-in), an AI service (recipe generation), a push-notification service (notifications), and a network provider (network delivery and country-from-IP). Each has its own privacy policy.

6. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

7. Deleting your account & data

You can delete your account and its data at any time from inside the app: open the help/contact sheet and choose "Delete my account & data". This permanently erases your anonymous account id, your free-trial ledger, your paid unit balance, your push tokens, your messages, and your basic info (form of address, language, country, last active). Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone — any remaining paid consultations are lost and cannot be refunded or restored. For fraud and replay protection and for accounting/tax requirements, a record of past purchase transactions is kept in de-identified form (no longer linked to you). You can also request deletion by emailing the.bite@outlook.com, and we will action it within 30 days.

Terms of Service

1. Nature of the app

Lomma is an app that suggests cooking recipes based on the ingredients you have, with a touch of comfort and mood while cooking. Recipes and suggestions are for general and enjoyment purposes and may be generated by AI.

2. Important dietary & health notice

Lomma suggestions are not professional medical or dietary advice. You are responsible for ensuring any recipe suits your health condition and dietary needs. Always review the ingredients yourself, especially if you have allergies or dietary or religious restrictions. We are not liable for any harm resulting from following a recipe.

3. Consultations & payments

App usage is measured in "units". You receive a limited number of free units, and you can purchase additional units via in-app packs (5 / 10 / 20 / 50 / 100 units), subject to fair-use limits that prevent automated abuse. Purchases are final and subject to the app store (Google Play or App Store) refund policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the app for its intended purpose (recipe suggestions) and not to attempt to misuse or tamper with it.

5. Changes to the service

We may improve the app or change its features or pricing in the future. We will try to notify you of material changes.

Lomma's recipes are generated by AI from the ingredients you type. We filter allergens and non-halal ingredients as best we can, but this filtering is technical and not infallible — if you have an allergy (especially a severe one) or strict dietary restrictions, always verify every ingredient and product label yourself before cooking and eating. Calorie figures are estimates. Lomma is not a substitute for professional medical or dietary advice.
